Background

The Measuring Cube is offered by Tom Leszczynski, the original creator of the Measuring Cube posted on Thingiverse (iomaa), which became a viral sensation with over 2.5 million downloads across all versions and was the most popular 3D object worldwide for 18 months.

With a background in theoretical mathematics and art, Tom created the cube as a purely theoretical math-art challenge: whether it was possible to combine 10 distinct volumes sharing common walls, while maintaining Bauhaus-style minimalism, forming a cube. The solution took a long time to calculate and became the Measuring Cube.
